simply, it’s horseshit. the FCC is going to “regulate” the internet via net neutrality, which is why the internet is as awesome as it is. without this, the ISPs decide what you do and do not get to do online. it’s not as simple as them creating “different internet plans for different people” as AFP tries to allude to every now and again, it’s about them charging for select services, select sites, and so on.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: this isn’t just going to mess up the internet for America, but the entire world. small online business will dwindle and people will be out of jobs over this, all because some greedy turds high in the telcoms’ offices decided their pockets were gonna expand at the expense of others’ shrinking down to nothing.

please, tell your friends, tell your family, tell everybody: the FCC is not going to violently take over the internet. they want to keep it the way it is. that’s what net neutrality is. you being on facebook right now as part of your regular internet service? that’s net neutrality. being able to quickly hop over to google, twitter, tumblr, bandcamp, livejournal, deviantart, wherever? that’s net neutrality. and the FCC likes that. greedy telcoms don’t, and they want to change it forever.
