About Chat

?

It would be handy to have something that makes a noise whenever someone else posts, so that you know when someone says something instead of discovering you missed a whole conversation when you come back to it.

Which is why I vote Meebo. Anyone agrees?

And that sound thing isn't necessary.
You might be trying to so something else when, "BING BING BING BONG PLING!"
I always have sound off when I'm in a chat anyways.

So what's wrong with the forum chat?

Too limited in options and doesn't have a sound to indicate that someone posted. It's rather annoying.

Why do you need options.
It's chat, not Facebook.

We come back to the chat and find out someone else has already had a conversation 20 minutes ago and left.
We're busy people. We need indication as to when someone says something so we can keep track.

I do that too. Except every minute or so I check.

I still suggest Meebo.

Meebo would suck, and I agree with other dude. That whole noise thing is freakin annoying. If you're not paying attention to the conversation, well, thats too damn bad. Plus, it's chat, what else do you need besides typing and pressing enter?

IRC is always going to be superior. I agree with the people before me, if you miss something, tough shits. There's a huge log that NEVER gets erased unless you log off. Just scroll up.

Why don't we get a Chatango box?
Psytrack's got one, it seems okay.
You have to pay to get some features, but they seem pretty trivial. Nothing worth the money.
