| I made a TLOK game? What kind of game would it be?
Currently I'm playing "Link to the Past" again, and I was kinda thinking that TLOK what fit that style pretty good. It would have more attacks and won't have the items, though. I'd also probably give you the option to have up to four people out in the field at once, kind of like Four Sword Adventures. It would also be the easiest game to program because I wouldn't need to programing any real jumping, and jumping is always hard to program.
What do you guys think it would be? How does that idea even work?

| No.
1º I'm this forum's coder.... I don't do sprite animations, you don't do make games. Got'it?
2º I dislike the idea because it's too soon a game... the story is still too.. virgin.. to be enough for a game... If you wished, you could make one... but it will be like those crappy konamie's game of different animes.
3º The good thing about the legend of zelda is it's restricted gameplay... if you add a lot of stuff, it'll get bigger and bigger, and easier and easier... therefore, crappy.
If you create a game of TLOK, you should rethink the whole engine...
Nac's advice: don't make it NOW.

| If I were to make it NOW, I'd just get the basics of the engine done. I wouldn't release the game till the series was over. | |

Then why doi you create this topic now? ... Yeah, I like the idea of a game... but not until we've a solid story... Besides, I don't really like the zelda-ish engine idea...

Never said it had to use all of the characters. Perhaps you could release the RPG in chapter-based installments, make sequels to the fighting game that include a few more characters at a time(start small, you may be able to get away with using just 6 people in the first and going from there.) ...TLOK Platformer.

...TLOK Platformer. So... you are kind of saying that we should make a "Hack" like phenom? ... I like it... but it's just TOO soon for that... first, let's finish this serie, then let's get on other stuff.

Just like Hack./ ... You confuse me to an infallible degree. Hack started as a nobel. It was a book, and ti was such a sucess that they made a serie. Wait a second... You mean like .hack? Oh. They don't have tons of game styles. They're just one big RPG series. But yeah, it could work like theirs, multiple volumes with the ability to carry over data from the last one.

I lub Fear Unlimited, but okay i understand why some people dun like it. Its a fun stlye and should be attempted. The style is a static screen beat them all... basically, you stay on a single place, and enemies come to you... it's very simple, but some people love it for that. It's a big problem though, and that's it that the game gets old very soon after playing it. I bet there is no game that you can play more than half an hour before it becomes old. On the other hand, some little "variation" of the system can make those games 1000 times funnier.... a good example is Odin Sphere. The game is an "static-screen beat them all", but it allows exploration... I know it sounds contradictory, but it's not... The battle system is very limited (which is bad), but in general, it's a good game. You should really check it out. - NF wrote:

Are you kidding me? "Suck" is a kind word. That game deserves a lot worst than that. - Chaosvii7 wrote:
